Already Home

Another year has passed

Still I wait

Through the silence of the night and the calm of day

Shadows come and go

Seasons change, yet you remain the same

Untouched in my memory, safe within my heart

I close my eyes and remember

I whisper into the wind

I plead with you to come home

The day is perfect and the sunlit sky tells me what my ears don't wish to hear

But my heart knows

You are already home.
